The Duke & Duchess have arrived at tonight’s 71st British Academy of Film and Television Arts ceremony (BAFTAs), held at the Royal Albert Hall, to honour the best national and foreign films of 2017. The Duke of Cambridge is president of the BAFTAs, and this is his third time attending with The Duchess.
There was much discussion over whether or not The Duchess would wear black in honour of the Time’s Up anti-harassment campaign, seeing as royals are not supposed make any kind of political statement, however opting for a dark colour such as this dark green tone was a wise choice as it still respects the campaign and avoids controversy. Perhaps the black ribbon is also a subtle nod to the movement, as well as her black accessories.
Kate walked the red carpet in a flowing forest green empire waist gown by Jenny Packham with a long train and black sash, paired with diamond and emerald earrings and a matching necklace and a black clutch. William wore a black tux.
