The Duchess of Cambridge joined Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip on Saturday evening for the Festival of Remembrance, an annual musical tribute to remember Britain’s fallen soldiers. Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall as well as Prince Harry were among the people who attended the event. This year Kate showed up without husband Prince William who was on official duty at a rugby match in Cardiff, Wales.
This marks one of several chic maternity looks for Kate, who has showcased gorgeous styles throughout all three of her pregnancies.
The Duchess wore a new custom made Catherine Walker coat, which she decorated with the poppy emblems, the traditional symbol of tribute to those who have suffered in wars and military conflicts.
The use of the red poppy on Remembrance Day is most common in Britain, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. They were the first flowers to grow on the battlefields after World War I, and are worn to remember those who served in the Wars.
