Kate dazzled in the Queen Mother’s tiara as she took place on the top table next to Chinese president Xi Jinping and the Queen at the state banquet held in his honour. Kate looked astonishing in red Jenny Packham dress.
The event was the third time Kate has worn a tiara for an official engagement, causing much speculation about which of the royal jewels she would choose.
Taking this diamond dilemma in her stride, Kate opted for the Papyrus tiara teamed with matching chandelier earrings, which set off her scarlet hued embellished gown perfectly. The pearl and diamond accessory is called the Lotus Flower tiara, and it happens to be a favorite of Queen Elizabeth. It’s only the third time Middleton has ever chosen to wore a tiara, according to Vanity Fair, because as we all know, the “people’s princess” likes to keep her royalty on chill. Middleton first wore the tiara during her 2011 wedding to Prince William, and then again in December 2013.
One of the Duchess of Cambridge’s go-to designers for official occasions, Kate also wore a dress by Jenny Packham earlier this year when she was pictured leaving hospital following the birth of Princess Charlotte. Her gown, was chosen as red is the Chinese national colour. The cut, the cinched-in waist, scoop neckline and cap sleeves are elegant and classy but youthful.
The dress should cost between £2,000-4,000.
