Acting’s all in the family for the Jolie-Pitt clan.
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will star in – and Jolie will write and direct – the “intimate, character-driven drama” By The Sea, Universal Pictures announced Friday.
The film will mark the A-list pair’s first onscreen reunion since 2005’s Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
Earlier this month, PEOPLE Magazine confirmed the engaged couple would shoot a movie in Malta for about eight weeks. Though it’s still unclear whether By The Sea is that project, the Mediterranean setting would be a perfect fit for the title.
“I am very happy to continue my relationship with [Universal Pictures chair Donna Langley] and the entire Universal team as I finish Unbroken and begin work on By The Sea, ” Jolie said in a statement. “They have created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker.”
