Thank goodness that someone—that would be you, Peter Dundas of Emilio Pucci—has realized that when it comes to this fall, ostentation and opulence are best served in short measures. And given that Dundas is designing for that eternal fun-loving free-spirited Pucci girl who has legs that go on forever, we are talking very, very short, and, other times, short shorts. This collection was a blast, a sexily spirited nonstop exotica of those trademark swirling rococco prints, swirling and spinning across tiny fluted pale silk skirts worn with metallic bead-encrusted tops, or etched across a thigh-grazing deep purple-blue fur coat banded with ebony fur, or traced over a straight-off-of-Their-Satanic-Majesties-Request cropped black velvet jacket with a sheer point d’esprit blouse and black shorts. Add a pair of way-over-the-knee skinny boots—in golden brown or scarlet suede, or in black swagged with rope embroidery and tassels—and you are good to go.
