How to Wear Mini Skirts This Season

1 of 9

A mini item with major impact.

This season, strong iterations in both denim and suede have been spotted everywhere—and thankfully, the shopping options are just as plentiful. Like all classics, the mini now comes in so many versions, it’s practically all-inclusive.

There’s a comprehensive spectrum of lengths that qualify as short: lower mid-thigh at Chanel and Gucci, mid-thigh at Antonio Berardi, upper thigh at Balmain, seven-eight short at Michael Kors, and what may as well be called the Kardashian cut at Isabel Marant. Then there are the variations: mid-thigh dirndl at Balenciaga and upper thigh and slashed (for that extra challenge) at Lanvin, not to mention all the ones from designers, such as Marc Jacobs or Alexander Wang.

Shop the skirts: 1. Balmain Lace-up Mini Skirt, 2. Emanuel Ungaro Mini Skirt, 3. OASIS Cord Button Mini Skirt, 4. Black Mesh Flare Mini Skirt

Tip: A brown suede mini with a roll-neck sweater or a crop top and booties; a pair of flat over-the-knee boots with an A-line denim skirt; a little leather skirt paired with a black turtleneck and sweeping overcoat.
