Jennifer Aniston is a VERY lucky girl to have an adoring, supportive husband like Justin Theroux.
Justin and Jennifer celebrated recently their one-year anniversary and in an interview with The Sunday Times, Theroux gushed about his wife and life with her: “[Jennifer] is a proper badass. She has lived through a lot of bullshit,” he explained. “Many people would have crumbled under some of the stresses that have been put on her. I’m very proud of her for that, for the way she handles herself. So in a weird way it’s an honor to stand behind her. Truly, in that sense, she’s amazing.”
Some people have referred to Justin Theroux as “Mr. Jennifer Aniston,” due to the fact that her career is way more successful than his, but he is not bothered by that and takes it with a very positive attitude: “It doesn’t really get under my skin,” he said of the Mr. Aniston nickname. “It’s just one of those things that’s a shorthand for describing who I am.”
Earlier this summer Jennifer wrote a powerful essay in The Huffington Post that expressed how tired she is from all the gossip surrounding her getting pregnant.
Justin said: “She addressed it beautifully in her Huff Post piece. I was very, very proud of her for writing that. It was very well-written. She expressed herself beautifully,” he said. “Women get so much more sh— than men. There are very few oh-my-God-what-were-they-thinking shows on the red carpet for men. They’re not saying, ‘Oh my God, Justin can’t have kids.”
He admitted that the rumors only get him from time to time: “You feel protective, of course,” he said. “She’s similar to me—she doesn’t pay attention to it unless she has to. But there’s definitely times when your privacy is invaded. Areas of your personal life that are yours to discuss among yourselves and your friends and family shouldn’t be a topic for national debate.”
“[Jennifer] understands that she is someone who has attracted, for whatever reason, a level of attention where she’s become this sort of fable, I guess, in some sort of bizarre morality play of what a woman should be.”
The actor also commented on Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie‘s split: “As a child of divorce, all I can say is that’s terrible news for those children and that’s all you can really say,”
