It seems there won’t be any issues dividing their combined $500 million fortune because things were set out clearly in documents they signed before tying the knot two years ago.

TMZ reports that the couple own a total of 12 properties, but luckily for them now, they bought all of it before they were married and some even before they started dating – seven houses are Brad’s, and two are Angelina’s while three others – a New York apartment, a mansion in New Orleans and a vineyard in France, are a joint purchase. Their agreement reportedly makes it pretty easy to split up their property.

On the left is the property in Majorca, Spain which they bought together and on the right is Brad’s home in Los Angeles.

The most impressive mansion they own together is Chateau Miraval in Correns, France.

Not everything, though,  seems to be so simple when it comes to the children they have. Brad has vowed to fight Angelina for custody of their children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Knox and Vivienne, eight. She has applied for sole physical custody of the kids, allowing Brad visitation rights, but Pitt wants the care to be shared equally.

A friend of Brad’s reports that he is “completely devastated” by the divorce and the fact that it had to “play out publicly”: “He is beside himself and has been crying. He was completely caught off guard and blindsided and had no idea she would do this. Angelina filed the court papers a minute before the courts closed on Monday night.”

“He didn’t have a lawyer or anything. She had threatened divorce in the past but he did not think she would file this time. He is completely devastated and beside himself. He is a shattered man. He’s extremely upset. But he is totally focused on just being helpful and making sure his kids are doing as well as possible.”

He added: “He is emotionally torn. Right now, he is devastated. He still loved Angelina and would have preferred they fight to make the marriage work. He was willing to do whatever it took to save the marriage and didn’t know Angelina had already given up on it. He has wanted to protect the children. He didn’t want it to play out publicly.”
