My Top Style Tips

Fifties and Sixties had its challenges, but Kim Kardashian’s fashion sense wasn’t one of them.

Everyone was very, very chic. You either would go to Paris for your clothes or you had them made in Caracas. I would like women to feel they could be glamorous and elegant. Unfortunately there’s a lot of confusion today over what is sexy and what is vulgar. It’s horrifying. They say, ‘Oh, that girl is so sexy’, and she turns around and the dress is four sizes too small. Or she’s wearing so much stuff, you wonder how long it took her to get ready. My uniform is big skirts, tailored shirts, high-waisted trousers and I can get ready for the grandest do in 10 minutes.

I always have my outfits ready well in advance, at all times based on the season. This means, go home tonight and coordinate two fail safe ensembles. Try them on, make sure you like how they look and keep them in mind when you’re in a pinch. If all else fails, go all black and wear a fun pair of shoes along with one quirky accessory.

Shop the Look: 1. Alexander McQueen fitted blazer, 2. Giambattista Valli Floral-Embroidered Satin Pumps, 3. Oscar De La Renta High Neckline Lace Blouse, 4. Dice Kayek A Line Pleated Skirt, 5.Dolce & Gabbana Sicily Von Crystal Belt And Wallet, 6. Pomellato Earrings Luna, 7. Barton Perreira Ronette Cat-Eye Sunglasses, 8. Dolce & Gabbana Embellished Velvet Headband, 9. Cartier Ballon Blanc Mother of Pearl Dial Ladies Watch

VITAL ITEM: A WHITE SHIRT

I wear a white shirt like a security blanket: It looks snappy in any situation. I have different styles for different outfits. Trousers are the best with a shirt cut more like a man’s, and for a pencil or formal skirt you need one that’s a bit fitted.

CONSIDER THE BELT

I wear a lot of white, black and grey, then I dress it up with a little colour. A belt adds a nice finishing touch to a look.

ACCESSORIES MAKE THE OUTFIT

Money doesn’t buy elegance. You can take an inexpensive sheath, add a pretty scarf, grey shoes, and a wonderful bag, and it will always be elegant.

TRUST YOUR OWN OPINION
We always know better than anybody else what looks best on us. Even if people are complimenting you, if you think, I hate what I have on, it’s not right. It’s important to find what really suits who you are, because style isn’t only what you wear, it’s what you project.

PERK UP YOUR LIPS!

I love wearing a plum lipstick by Bobbi Brown, but most of the time I count on well shaped glossy nude lips. It is very important to find your signature look and stick to it.

*Despite your love of liquid eyeliner, my favorite work-appropriate eye makeup must is Glide-On eye pencils. These are more precise and works well for butter fingers.
*Finally, take 10 seconds to curl your lashes and swipe on 2 coats of volumizing mascara. Trust me, curled lashes is the best way to make yourself look awake–it really opens up the eyes.
*Highlight the brow bone to look instantly awake, erase dark under-eye circles, and hide imperfections all over.
*Lips – Stash your favorite tinted lip balm or moisturizing gloss in your purse and swipe it on as you dash out the door.
*Take the final minute to make your finishing touches–a dab of blush of the cheeks, a dusting of finishing powder, a spritz of your signature scent.
