The distinctive style of Kate Middleton’s hair has come to shape the hairstyles of the nation with women up and down the country striving to achieve equally glossy locks.

Since the royal wedding of the decade, Kate has tweaked the rather girlish long hairstyle she sported at St Andrews University where she and Prince William met, transforming Kate Middleton look into something truly iconic.

Over the last year, Kate has shown that she’s not afraid to experiment with different updo’s. At the Olympics we saw the young royal wearing her hair up in a sporty ponytail, whilst, on more lavish public occasions, the former Middleton has taken to styling her hair with intricate chignons.

And she recently updated her look by adding a sweeping fringe – but the rest of her chic cut remains fixed with lengthy layers that add body and volume to its perfected finish.

Now branded as the Chelsea Blow Dry, the 31-year-old is more often than not spotted with her trademark tresses in a super sophisticated hairstyle billowing over her shoulders.

And it’s hairdresser Richard Ward who we have to thank for the infamous blow dry which many have attempted to replicate. Richard has previously worked with supermodel Elle Macpherson and Kelly Brook, and sees the Duchess in his luxurious Chelsea-based salon on a regular basis.

Kate’s chestnut brown hair colour is the shade we’re all rushing to our colourists for – and it’s no wonder. Brunettes need to re-touch their tresses with less frequent intervals, making it the perfect tone for the busy mum-to-be.

The Duchess’ well-tended locks are similarly given their look of vitality with a glossing treatment that includes lowlights a few shades brighter than her natural hair colour. Adding shine and a full depth to her look that cannot be replicated with extensions, Kate’s hair is able to stay sleek between visits.
