Go For a Super Healthy Food

Besides their glittering acting careers and consistently flawless red carpet appearances, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman and Demi Moore have one more thing in common – they are all raw food fans.

If the ‘you are what you eat’ principle is to be believed, then it certainly does the trick for these leading Hollywood ladies.

But this super healthy way of eating isn’t exclusively for the stateside glitterati.

Introducing raw food is one of the easiest changes you can make to your diet, and is perfect for a time-poor cook – not a stove or saucepan in sight!

It is less of a craze or harsh diet regime and more about making small yet effective changes to what you eat on a daily basis.

Increasing your raw food intake means digestion is more efficient and bloating becomes a thing of the past.

Lots of fresh fruit and vegetables are involved so naturally it is low in fat and high in nutrients. Plus, eating fruit and vegetables in their raw form means your body gets the maximum benefit from and easy access to the nutrients they contain.

At this year’s London Fashion Week, models were fuelled up and down the runway by Geeta Sidhu Robb’s, founder and CEO of NOSH Detox, raw ‘model munch box’.

Packed full of goodness, models sipped on the world’s first non-heat treated smoothies, and Georgia May Jagger declared herself a big fan.

Geeta tells HELLO! Online about the benefits of raw foodism.

She says: “You’ll notice a difference in the way you feel. Bloating issues disappear, you feel fuller for longer, your skin glows and you’ll find yourself feeling more energetic.

“Start by making little changes. Initially aim for 50% raw food intake – try limiting yourself to raw food during the daytime, then eating cooked food at night. Experiment and find out what works for you and your schedule.”

Geeta’s suggested first steps for a raw food diet:

* Replace half of your plate at every meal with a couple of handfuls of green leaves

* Eat nuts and seeds in their raw form to reap maximum nutritious benefits

* Blend your fruit and veg to make smoothies – a quick and easy way to eat raw

* Crudités and dips are a sure fire and fun way to up your raw intake
