Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are Divorcing

It’s a sad day in Hollywood—especially for young Suri Cruise. After five years of marriage, her A-list parents, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, are splitting. The couple wed in an Italian castle in November 2006.
Holmes’s attorney, Jonathan Wolfe, provided People with the following statement, “This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”
Cruise’s rep adds, “Kate has filed for divorce and Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children. Please allow them their privacy.”
It is an unfortunate time for the duo to have a shakeup as Cruise was just praised for his role in this summer’s flick, Rock of Ages.
