Priscilla Chan Married Mark Zuckerberg on Saturday

As you probably know by now, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg married his college sweetheart, Priscilla Chan, this weekend; just one day after becoming a billionaire 19 times over. The surprise backyard ceremony also happened to take place just days after she graduated from medical school, providing the perfect opportunity for the couple to officially launch the next chapter of their lives together. It was all very cute and romantic until everyone — including The New York Times — noticed that by waiting until the day after cashing in his fortune, Zuckerberg conveniently protected his billions from California’s communal property law.

In a ceremony so secret even the guests didn’t know about it, Mark Zuckerberg and longtime girlfriend Priscilla Chan married on Saturday at their house in Palo Alto. The couple, who met at Harvard, told their friends they’d been invited to a party to celebrate Priscilla graduating from medical school at the University of California San Francisco (the timing of Facebook’s IPO was a coincidence, apparently). The bride wore a very pretty Claire Pettibone dress, (we’re pretty sure it’s this “sky between the branches” dress on the brand’s website), and, according to Grazia, a ‘simple ruby ring’ that Zuckerberg designed. (No hoodie jokes, by the way: Zuckerberg wore a totally respectable suit.) Mazel tov to the happy couple!
