Selena Gomez bounces back from break-up in stunning ivory gown

Last week, it was reported that pop sensation Justin Bieber and his actress girlfriend Selena Gomez had called time on their relationship. But former Disney star Selena put on a brave face on Monday night, looking incredible in ivory as she stepped out for the Women of the Year event.

The 20-year-old wowed onlookers in the white, plunging Giambattista Valli gown. Featuring an embroidered bodice, peplum detailing and a demure, just-below-the-knee hemline, the outfit was similar to the stunning white creation Jessica Biel wowed in at the Total Recall premiere in London.

Selena teamed the fancy frock with Rupert Sanderson nude heels and a mini Judith Leiber clutch. A simple updo and amethyst drop earrings completed the look.

And she even managed to picked up an award on the night, and she was barely able to hide her delight as she accepted the gong from Getaway co-star Ethan Hawke.

“Thank you so much. I am so honoured to be in a room full of women that I can only aspire to be as good as they are one day,” she said.

”I feel so lucky that every day I get to work with interesting people that are way smarter than me, and have taught me so much, like Ethan.

”I just want to share to all the girls out there that you have a voice, you have a chance to do what you love, whether that is acting or singing. And just being true to who you are.”

The Press Association reported that the split happened last week and is down to the pair’s mutually busy work schedules.

Canadian-born Justin is currently on tour to promote his latest album and also performed at Wednesday’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show, while Selena is filming a Wizards of Waverly Place reunion for the Disney Channel called The Wizards Return: Alex versus Alex, which will reach screens next year.

Eighteen-year-old Justin and 20-year-old Selena first stepped out together in February 2011 at the Vanity Fair Oscar party. The young couple have both enjoyed immense success for their years, Selena has turned her hand to fashion designing, singing, acting and is also a UNICEF ambassador. She recently attended the Venice Film Festival to promote her latest film Spring Breakers, firmly cementing herself as one of Hollywood’s up and coming young stars.

Justin has released three hugely popular albums in the last two years, leading him to be named by Forbes Magazine as the third most powerful celebrity in the world. He also has over 30 million followers on Twitter, making him the second most ‘followed’ person in the world behind fellow musician Lady Gaga.
