Celeb Trainers Reveal: How Stars Stay Svelte
0The fitness pros who help Jennifer Aniston, Emma Stone and more get fit reveal their tricks for an A-list
JENNIFER ANISTON SALUTES THE SUN
The secret behind Jennifer’s sleek arms? Ten daily sun salutations, says the actress’s yoga instructor Mandy Ingber. “Sun salutations work the triceps, biceps and shoulders,” she explains, “giving a toned look to the arms without too much bulk.”
EMMA STONE WAISTS AWAY IN PILATES
With her svelte yet in-shape body, we think it’s Emma who looks like she’s been Photoshopped! And the Crazy, Stupid, Love star owes it in part to Pilates with sought-after instructor Mari Winsor, who encourages the actress to engage the muscles around her waist during each exercise to achieve flat abs.
JENNIFER HUDSON HONES AT HOME
“[She's] not a typical gym bunny,” trainer Harley Pasternak tells of his client. “So I never suggested two to three hours a day of exercise.” Instead, Pasternak gave Jennifer a pass, letting her work out at home with his 5-Factor Fitness DVDs, which require her to exercise just 25 minutes a day, five days a week.
RYAN SEACREST HAS A BALL
To relieve stress (and the aches and pains from being on his feet all day), Ryan depends on Yoga Tune Up Therapy Balls, created by fitness guru Jill Miller. She has him roll the balls underneath each foot to strengthen his muscles and ease tension.
SARAH JESSICA PARKER BUDDIES UP
Celeb trainer Marc Santa Maria introduced SJP to this fun move, designed to be done with a workout buddy: Get into push-up position and face your friend. Slap right hands then left hands, and finish by doing a push-up. Repeat 10 times for a workout that targets arms and shoulders.
KANYE WEST RUNS MILES IN STYLE
Rapping and running is how Kanye keeps fit. Pasternak reveals the two went jogging together in Kuala Lumpur in 112-degree heat, and the singer was “rapping the whole time” – not to mention running so fast that Pasternak could barely keep up!
