It’s understandable that after the Duchess of Cambridge’s stunning bridal gown made its debut to the world, long-sleeved wedding dresses have made a grand return.

From their past reputation of being conservative and modest, they are now readily positioned in the height of fashion and are set to reign in popularity for many years to come.

Now demure, princess-like long-sleeved numbers exuding elegance and sophistication have made their way down the 2013 catwalk, and it’s only a matter of time before they make their way up the aisle.

Lace has also become a favourite with designers. After Alexander Mcqueen’s creation for Kate on her wedding day, with its exquisite hand-embroidered and appliquéd lace, its popularity has soared.
