Having been married since 2008, it was only a matter of time before Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi started resembling one another. This week, the former Arrested Development star traded her long blond locks for a shaggy bob reminiscent of Ellen’s pixie. Both women are longtime clients of Los Angeles hair stylist Lea Journo.

“I have to get my hair cut a lot because when you have short hair like this, it grows out of the cut in about 10 days,” Halle Berry confessed to InStyle last year about her high and low maintenance cut. “For my everyday style, I don’t put much energy into it, so spiking it up and putting product in it isn’t something that’s hard.” And apparently Berry’s fiancé, Olivier Martinez, liked what he saw because the French actor opted for the same cropped look. They have matching tattoos and can probably share skinny jeans, so why shouldn’t Victoria and David Beckham sport identical haircuts every now and then? In 2007, the couple showed up at an award ceremony in London with copycat asymmetrical pixies and blond highlights. Two years later, they slicked back their (now dark) hair for a series of Emporio Armani ads. Perhaps they’re simply living out the message of those Hebrew tattoos, which read: “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.”

Her daughter, Willow, famously sang of whipping her hair back and forth, but Jada Pinkett Smith has been known to keep her hair closely cropped like husband Will’s. (At one time, she even opted for cornrows.) Recently, however, it’s Mom who’s wearing her hair long while Willow showed off her newly shaved head on WhoSay. Now the 11-year-old resembles her father and brother Jaden.

So much for opposites attract. In 1997, two years after they met while making Seven, Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow had seemingly morphed into the same person. Not only did the two stars dress identically, but if you cover up their faces in some photographs and just look at their blunt blond bangs, it’s nearly impossible to tell them apart. Alas, the two eventually wanted something different—by June of that year, they had broken off their engagement.

Although Kelly Osbourne and her ex-fiancé Luke Worall were not blessed with naturally blond hair, peroxide happily made up the difference: the pair were frequently photographed head-to-head with identical sweeping platinum bangs. But Osbourne eventually called off the engagement when she caught Worrall cheating with, among other people, transgender model Elle Schneider—who also dyed her hair blond. Osbourne didn’t take the news well. “Up until then,” she admitted in an interview, “I’d always thought that the worst way to get cheated on would be with an ugly girl.”

Like Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry likes to experiment with Skittles-colored hair. But in her natural state, the 27-year-old singer has long, raven-black locks—just like her ex-husband Russell Brand. Indeed, at times the two looked more like brother and sister than husband and wife. But after Brand filed for divorce last year, Perry retreated to the safety of blue hair. Adding to her pain, however, Brand had his matching tattoo removed, and—indignity of indignities— unfollowed her on Twitter.
